Low Tide

Ceramics workshop
Class of 2024
When I was younger I took a trip to the Grand Cayman Islands and I was moved by the experience, so I decided to base my body of work after the landscapes of the Islands. I liked the beach because it was in the woods and there were a few people around. I threw my pieces on the wheel and trimmed them. I created them because I like functional pieces like mugs and bowls. My best piece is a shallow wide bowl with a lid. I glazed them with colors from different scenes in nature. One was a beach with the bottom blue and the top colored like sand. Viewers should see a pristine beach in my pieces and feel an escape from reality.
